  • Tyler’s love of football started while playing flag football in first grade. He has played almost every position on both sides of the ball since his early years in youth football all the way thru his current HS varsity team.

  • Tyler lettered in football as a freshman. He started on defense at linebacker, and defensive end.  He also started on offense at right tackle.

  • Tyler has received many awards for football, but his most prized award is his 2021 Thrall Athletics Toughness Award, which is voted on by teammates and coaches.

  • Tyler is naturally athletic and is a high performer in most sports, but football makes this kid come alive. He is a quiet, calm kid - until game day.

  • Tyler's favorite players are Rob Gronkowski, Ray Lewis, & Bo Jackson.

"I’ve never been around another better practice player, ever. And I’ve coached 16 Division One players over the course of 15 years."

-Coach Aaron Vanencek, Thrall AD

BASEBALL
  • Tyler pitches, plays first base and is solid at third base.  His size and strength have given him the "power hitter" designation.

  • At 10 years old, Tyler won the local Junior Home Run Derby in a category of 12U and 14U players. Tyler advanced to the regionals MLB Junior Home Run Derby in Houston.

  • He has hit an out of the park Home Run at every age level, including coach pitch.

  • Tyler's youth baseball team was called The Warbirds. Today, he plays for Thrall High School. Tyler has been a productive player as a starter on the varsity team as a freshman, sophomore, and junior.

  • Fun Fact: At a youth game, Tyler hit one over the fence to another field and hit a guy in the shoulder. The guy gave him a $1 for making that hit.

POWER LIFTING
  • Tyler asked to start lifting at an early age. His first "bar" was a broom handle

  • Tyler advanced to regionals with the Texas High School Powerlifting Association his freshman year in the 180lb weight class with a total weight of 920 pounds.  He improved his sophomore year with a total weight of 1,210 pounds in the 220lb weight class, also advancing to the Texas Regionals.  His junior year weight total weight was 1,335 in the 242lb weight class.

  • Bench press is Tyler's favorite.

FOR FUN
  • Tyler participates in high school track and field.  His field events are discus and shot put, and he runs the 100M and 4x100M relay. Tyler placed 2nd in District in Discuss his sophomore year, earning him a trip to the area meet, placing 4th.  This earned him a spot on the team advancing to the Regional Meet in Kingsland TX.

  • If you can't find Tyler at the gym, then he's most likely at a field throwing the football and running routes with friends, or they may be out bass fishing at nearest lake or stock tank.

  • Tyler's "ice" personality helps him focus on the current play, next play, and helps him quickly forget the past and move forward.

  • Nicknames have been "Moose", "Tyler B", "Bonk", and "Swole Body".

  • Most importantly, Tyler is a Christian athlete with faith that keeps him grounded, strong and courageous.

"Be Strong & Courageous. Do not be afraid;
Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
- Joshua 1:9
